Thanks to an observant witness, two young people were caught stealing a car in the Viennese district of Simmering on Thursday morning. The two boys, aged 14 and 18, stole the car of a friend’s father (16). During the course of the investigation, it also emerged that the 16-year-old had previously threatened the girl several times.
The witness observed when the two young people parked the car on Kaiser-Ebersdorfer Strasse and then behaved suspiciously. She then alerted the police. When emergency services arrived, the two boys ran away but were apprehended shortly afterwards. The young people initially denied having anything to do with the car. However, the witness recognized the 14-year-old as the driver of the vehicle.
