Because he had rebelled and behaved aggressively towards his girlfriend, the mother of a 35-year-old from the Spittal an der Drau district called the police on Friday evening. But instead of calming down, the drunk man even attacked an officer.
On Friday around 8:30 p.m., the police received an emergency call from the desperate mother that her son was rebelling in the house in Spittal and behaving very aggressively towards his girlfriend.
When police patrols arrived on the scene, the 35-year-old, who was already known to the police, could be found in front of the house. As officers tried to calm the man, who was clearly very drunk, he began loudly abusing police and repeatedly assaulting them.
“The man became increasingly aggressive and even tried to attack his girlfriend. When a police officer intervened, he violently pushed him away,” said an officer. The 35-year-old was then temporarily arrested and taken to the detention room of PI Obervellach.
Too drunk to be interviewed
“He refused to take a breath test. Due to the apparent heavy intoxication, no interrogation has taken place for the time being, but that should happen later on Saturday morning,” said a police officer.
