After the cold wave in Austria, the early summer weather is finally returning. But not for long: according to the Geosphere Austria forecast, temperatures of up to 29 degrees are expected on Tuesday before a low-pressure influence causes more clouds, rain and cooling.
The new week starts with often sunny weather. However, high cloud fields – and also Sahara dust, especially in the west – somewhat cloud the impression. Early temperatures are two to eleven degrees, daily maximum temperatures are 22 to 27 degrees.
Sunday maximum 29 degrees
The high-pressure weather will continue on Tuesday. It remains very sunny and only occasionally thin clouds pass in high layers. With a southerly flow, temperatures will reach early summer values according to the Geosphere forecast. Five to 13 degrees are expected in the morning, and 22 to even 29 degrees during the day.
Still sunny in the east
On the national holiday, Wednesday, May 1, weak low-pressure influences from the west will cause dense clouds and some rain between Vorarlberg and Upper Carinthia. The area south of the main Alpine ridge is particularly affected. In the rest of the country it remains sunny and warm in early summer. The thermometer climbs to five to twelve degrees in the morning and during the day temperatures are between 20 and 27 degrees.
Rain and thunder in the west
A weak low over western Austria on Thursday will be accompanied by widespread dense cloud, but also rain, showers and brief thunderstorms. The areas in the west and south of the country are particularly affected. East of the Innviertel and the Wechsel region it initially remains largely precipitation-free and is occasionally sunny. Daily maximum temperatures are 18 to 25 degrees.
Rainy heading into the weekend
The end of the working week starts very cloudy and often overcast. The reason for this is the influence of low pressure in the eastern Alpine region. There are a lot of rain showers, sometimes with thunder. It rains constantly in the mountains. In the afternoon the clouds clear up in the southeast and east and most showers disappear. According to the forecast, early temperatures should be between four and 13 degrees, and maximum daytime temperatures from west to east between four and 18 degrees.
