A youth gang is said to have broken into more than 350 cars and taxis in the federal capital and Lower Austria. The police have already identified 24 suspects between the ages of 12 and 17. The gang is said to have committed other crimes too! 13 members have already been arrested.

The group is suspected of having committed more than 350 burglaries, mainly in cars and taxis, often by smashing a vehicle window with an emergency hammer and stealing valuables such as cash, perfumes or charging cables.

The young people are also said to have broken into two shops and a school. It is said that cars have been alienated a total of 19 times to take them for a joyride.
At the end of March, researchers were able to catch seven of the group between the ages of 12 and 14 during burglaries. At the end of April, another six gang members were finally arrested. They were arrested in Achau when they fled at excessive speed in a stolen vehicle and tried to push away a police car.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to numerous crimes. “A 14-year-old and a 17-year-old Austrian and a 14-year-old Serbian national were taken to a prison on the orders of the Vienna public prosecutor,” police spokesman Markus Dittrich said on Tuesday. The currently assessed damage amounts to approximately 300,000 euros.
