Will it be moved? – Fritzl “grateful”: long wait for decision

Date:

Josef F., who was sentenced to life in prison after the incest case in Amstetten and sent to an institution for mentally abnormal criminals – now a forensic therapeutic center – was heard again in Krems on Tuesday. There was no decision.

After the appointment on Tuesday, no decision has yet been made about the possible transfer of the measures to the normal prison system. This will be announced in writing, according to lawyer Astrid Wagner. She should receive the decision “in the coming days.”

Lawyer believes in dismissal
Wagner himself continues to assume that Josef F. will be released into normal prison. The 89-year-old himself seemed ‘very grateful’ on Tuesday afternoon after the hearing.

At the end of April 2008, the Amstetten incest case became known. Josef F. held his daughter captive in a basement dungeon for 24 years and fathered seven children with her – one died after birth. In March 2009, the suspect was sentenced to life imprisonment in St. Pölten and at the same time he was sentenced to prison for his dangerous behavior within the meaning of Article 21, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code. Josef F. was found guilty of negligent homicide, slave trade, deprivation of liberty, rape, incest and aggravated coercion and therefore on all charges.
