Two boys went on an illegal outing in the Leibnitz district of Styria on Monday evening. A ride on a family member’s electric motorcycle ended in an accident in which both boys were injured.
At 7:45 PM, the unauthorized exit for the two underage boys was over. On the municipal road from Michaelbachberg to Empersdorf, the 13-year-old driver lost control of the wheel at an intersection and crashed into a tree.
He sustained serious injuries and had to be taken by the Christophorus 12 rescue helicopter to the pediatric surgery in Graz. A 14-year-old who was riding a motorcycle with the steering wheel suffered minor injuries and also had to be taken to hospital with the rescue service.
little drunk
The electric motorcycle belongs to a relative of the 13-year-old. Of course, due to his age, the driver did not have the correct driver’s license to operate the vehicle.
The accident is also spicy in other respects: the driver was slightly under the influence of alcohol, although alcohol consumption is prohibited at his age. The electric motorcycle is also only approved for one person.
