A 66-year-old Styrian had to return home from a motorcycle trip on Sunday without a driver’s license and his two-wheeler: the police caught the man on Eisenstrasse at a speed of 173 km/h and confiscated his motorcycle.
The beautiful weather on Sunday drove many motorcyclists onto the streets in Styria. This also applies to a 66-year-old from the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district. The man was driving on the B115 (Styrian Eisenstraße) towards Präbichl in the early afternoon and apparently gave up hard.
This did not go unnoticed by a police officer who was taking speed measurements. Shortly before the top of the pass he overtook the cyclist from Upper Styria at a speed of 173 km/h – with the permitted speed of 100 km/h.
Driver’s license taken away
The 66-year-old was eventually arrested in the Vordernberg area. He indicated that he wanted to test his engine and the route. The motorcyclist’s driver’s license was confiscated and his motorcycle was temporarily seized.
