The professional fire brigade of Klagenfurt was deployed on an animal mission on Tuesday morning. A deer fell into a pool and kicked for his life.
The wild animal fell into the swimming pool in the St. Ruprecht district of Klagenfurt on Tuesday morning and was unable to get out on its own, because there were no stairs or other exit aids, according to emergency services.
“After rescuing the deer from the pool, we put it on an adjacent pasture, where it took a while to regain its strength,” said Wolfgang Germ of the Klagenfurt fire brigade. The deer then jumped into the nearby forest.
Swimming facilities often a deadly trap
“Rescuing animals in all kinds of ways is the order of the day for us,” said the emergency services, who called for pools and ponds and the like to be made safe for animals, because they can often be fatal.
