The large-scale search operation in the Weilharter Forst (Braunau district) involves 13 fire brigades with around 80 helpers, sniffer dog teams, the Red Cross and drone operators. A 56-year-old man is being sought. He went into the woods with his dog on Sunday afternoon and did not return. In the evening only his dog showed up again. The search for the man had been going on since 11 p.m., but was stopped around 3 a.m.
100 square kilometers in size
The search teams were regrouped in the morning. The dog reappeared, allowing the search radius to be narrowed somewhat. The search for the emergency services is extremely difficult. The entire forest area is over 100 square kilometers.
