A drunken baby shower ended with a bang, so to speak. A 55-year-old from Burgkirchen (Upper Austria) showed his gun to a new father (32) of a daughter. A shot was accidentally fired.
Around 3:30 a.m., the drunken 55-year-old wanted to show his friend from Aspach his gun – a Colt Double Eagle – that he legally owned. Assuming it was unloaded, he took it and pulled the trigger as well.
Pattern in the barrel
The problem: there was an active cartridge in the barrel. The projectile hit the 31-year-old in the right arm. He himself called for help. He was admitted to hospital.
Shooter in shock
His friend was in shock and was being cared for by the crisis intervention team. A temporary weapons ban was issued against him and a report is also being filed against him. No other people were present during the incident.
