A barn is set on fire in the middle of the city and then arson in the forest – there is great concern about a series of arsonists in Feldkirchen an der Donau (Upper Austria). Excitement in the community has been growing in recent days as another fire broke out in a farm outbuilding on Monday evening.
“Hopefully this is not the start of a new series” – Sunday morning was in Feldkirchen/D. the arson in the middle of the city was the talk of the town. On Saturday evening, an old wooden shed of a former butcher’s shop burned down, preventing the fire from spreading to the uninhabited main building.

Because a few days earlier a pile of wood burned in the neighboring municipality of Goldwörth – here the flames were blue, so an accelerant had been used – and at the end of April a hollow tree went up in flames in the nearby village of Höflein (Municipality of Ottensheim), everyone suspects an arsonist. This is also evident from the police investigation.
And the sirens also sounded on Monday evening. Ten fire brigades were called to a fire. Fortunately, the farm’s residential building was not on fire, as initially feared. However, an outbuilding burned down completely. Two cars were also destroyed.
The charges against the young woman were dropped
Three years ago there were several fires in Feldkirchen: five fires in hedges, woodpiles and garden sheds, four of which had finally broken out, had caused concern. The suspicion against a young woman had not been confirmed and the complaint had been withdrawn.
Sightings of suspects
A series of fires in the Danube Community that lasted several weeks in 2017 also remained unexplained. At that time, elephant lawns and hedgerows, including those immediately adjacent to houses, would go up in flames even on weekends. There were also sightings of suspects at the time, but the perpetrator remained unknown.
