What do you do when you’re bored? Four 17-year-olds from Wels and Buchkirchen apparently asked themselves this question. But they did not find a sensible answer, on the contrary. The Bubi quartet were arrested by police when they damaged property – not an isolated case.
As early as March 3, 2024, four young people were caught red-handed with further material damage. After extensive investigation and because all four of them had filmed a large part of the facts and also saved them on their mobile phones, the four young people were able to attribute a total of 19 acts of material damage between October 19, 2023 and March 13. 2024, police said in a press release.
Toilets destroyed
In various groups, the young people damaged the public toilet in the municipality of Scharten and the public toilet in Eferding several times during the period mentioned. The boys also used illegal fireworks to blow up a chewing gum machine and various objects such as traffic jams and mailboxes. In any case, at the Marchtrenk train station the young people were able to receive a damaged monitor and also a damaged toilet facility.
High material damage
The four defendants are also accused of various damage to property in Eferding. The damage resulted in a total loss of several tens of thousands of euros. All four confessed to the crimes and cited boredom as the reason for committing the crime. The reports are sent to the public prosecutor’s office in Wels and to the Eferding district council.
