Fatal crash in southeastern Styria: For unknown reasons, a 24-year-old driver rolled her vehicle onto an unguarded level crossing in Halbenrain just as a train was passing. A collision could no longer be prevented. All help came too late for the driver.
The driver sent out a distress signal, but was unable to prevent a collision. The train collided with the vehicle, the car was thrown by the impact and struck a telephone pole.
The emergency doctor who was called could no longer help the woman. The driver and train passengers were not injured. An alcohol test on the driver was negative.
