At the end of July last year, a man from Murau (43) drove his Porsche much too fast on the damp L 502 in Styria. His daughter was also in the sports car. Devastating! He lost control of the car and caused an accident that killed one person. Now he is on trial.
This time, no alcohol was involved in the devastating accident. It doesn’t have to be that way, because too much speed alone is enough to cause a catastrophe! This was clearly demonstrated at a Murauer (43) on St. Lambrechter Straße. The man was traveling in his Porsche at the end of July last year and also had his six-year-old daughter with him. Instead of adhering to the rules, he accelerated despite the wet road – and lost control of his car in the Forst district!
Collided head-on with a car
He crossed the oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the oncoming car of an 82-year-old Carinthian. As a result, the Porsche was thrown backwards onto the rising slope and only came to a stop 40 meters further in the ditch.
There was no way to save the 82-year-old man; the force of the impact and his injuries were too great: he died. The driver of the accident was seriously injured and flown to hospital by rescue helicopter. The six-year-old girl who saw everything escaped with minor injuries. His father will soon have to stand trial before the criminal court in Leoben for murder due to gross negligence.
