The long weekend starts today with traffic jams. Due to the mega construction site on the A10 between Golling and Werf, traffic is already at a standstill on many alternative routes. And this despite exit closures on the Tauernautobahn.
Many motorists were already heading south today. The result: traffic jams on all routes to a short holiday. Dozens of Salzburgers in transit traffic ended up in an avalanche of sheet metal. While some dared to adventure in the traffic jam, others tried to leave the Tauernautobahn (A10) and wanted to avoid the traffic jam. Despite closures downhill, it was no longer possible to make progress in Puch or Golling.
“Traffic was still okay in the morning. “It has been a disaster since this afternoon,” a resident reports to “Krone”. It is unlikely that there will be any improvement in the coming days.
Anyone who was not in the convoy on their way to holiday also had to wait on the A1 heading north during rush hour if it rained. It took over 45 minutes from Salzburg airport to the Eugendorf/Wallersee exit.
