Ex-husband accused: – “For 7,000 euros I will have you locked up!”

Date:

“A typical Styrian divorce procedure,” the lawyer tried to joke in court in Graz on Tuesday. But the ex-wife of the accused Styrian is not in the mood for jokes. She is very afraid, afraid of her former husband, who clearly had problems with the divorce. Property damage and dangerous threats against her and her ‘new man’ are in the room. But what’s missing is evidence.

“I understand that it hurts him and that he is hurt,” the ex-wife sighed in court. “And I never wanted to go to the police. I always wanted to clarify this with him in a calm manner.” But at some point, as she says, “the incidents” became too much and her friends advised her to at least report it to the police.

“He would have killed me”
Especially when the suspect threatened his ex-wife’s new boyfriend. “Thank God there was a car between us,” says judge Andreas Rom’s partner. “If he had caught me, he probably would have killed me.” But he also shows understanding for the suspect. ‘I understand he’s panicking, it was about his wife. And he always said no one else could have it.

And he apparently didn’t want his wife to get the car he gave her. “I was so happy then,” she says. But the joy was greatly dampened last year when the BMW was repeatedly tampered with, including last November. The wiring harness was cut and connectors and sensors in the engine compartment were damaged. The dashcam (car camera), which the woman had specially installed after the previous damage, was missing. Presumably to destroy evidence.

Copied key from “ex” car.
“It wasn’t me,” the ex-husband emphasizes. “I’m not going to destroy my own car.” But in terms of time it would have worked out just fine, from his house to the car. And: “You once copied a key from the car,” Judge Rome reminds the mechanic. “But only because I wanted to get documents from the car that she had not given me.” His ex-wife knows nothing about such documents. “I only have his vaccination certificate.”

The 44-year-old has somehow confessed to threatening his opponent. “But that was just a reflex. It wasn’t pleasant to find out he was the new guy. We were together for 23 years. I cried snot and water but didn’t touch him.”

BMW is a total loss
He denies that he threatened to have his ex ‘locked up’ for 7,000 euros. And she doesn’t remember the exact wording: ‘So much has happened.’ But since the report was made, it has been quiet, and because the car is a total loss, she doesn’t think he can actually do anything to her anymore. .

But the fear runs very deep. Also because of the upcoming splitting process. “Maybe he thinks that if I’m gone, he doesn’t have to give me anything anymore,” she says in a soft voice. “I don’t know what’s going on in his head.” It all causes her a lot of stress. “I already cry a lot.”

Fine for threatening
“I’m not saying anything about the Punch and Judy show,” the suspect is unaware of any guilt until the end. “I am innocent.” The judge ultimately sentenced him to a fine of 2,700 euros for dangerous threats. There follows an acquittal for the car and the threat against the ‘ex’. “Even if it stinks, we can’t prove it.”

But the judge no longer wants to see the suspect. “I have a girlfriend and a new life. “I don’t want to have anything to do with them anymore anyway,” the defendant says and accepts the verdict. Because public prosecutor Gertraud Pichler also agrees, the verdict is legally binding.
