German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock developed clear symptoms after her corona infection during a visit to Pakistan. Delegation circles said in the capital Islamabad on Wednesday that Baerbock has had “clear flu symptoms” since Tuesday evening. She will return to Berlin later that day aboard a government jet.
The minister will spend the flight in isolation in a separate cabin on board, the minister said. Initially, no other infections were known in their delegation.
Lost sense of taste during lunch
Baerbock had to stop its program shortly after it started on Tuesday after two positive corona tests. She had tested herself after noticing a loss of taste over lunch in Islamabad.
Luftwaffe Airbus Enables Complete Isolation
Originally, she wanted to travel to Greece on Wednesday and then visit Turkey. Instead, the entire delegation is now expected back in Berlin on Wednesday evening. In the Air Force’s ready-to-fly Airbus A319, there is a possibility that Baerbock will spend the flight completely isolated, it said.
