The driver will probably not forget this night-time car journey: the man drove with four other people in the car from Helenenschacht towards Ritzing on Sunday evening. In a cheerful atmosphere we drove along the country road at a slightly too high speed. However, the journey came to an abrupt end when we turned right.
Bend radius incorrectly estimated
Because the driver had apparently misjudged the turning radius, the car left the road and crashed into two trees. As a result of the collision, the vehicle was severely damaged. All five occupants of the Audi – three men and two women – suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital after first aid. An alcohol test on the driver was negative. The fire brigade recovered the wreckage from the accident.
