A German family went for a walk in Riezlern in Vorarlberg on Sunday. The tour led from the Kanzelwand mountain station to the top of the Kanzelwand. Around noon, the boy and his siblings climbed a few meters off the hiking trail into rocky terrain.
Stone came loose
A stone with a diameter of 20 centimeters suddenly came loose and hit the boy in the head. The child then fell onto the walkway below. The result was several broken bones and a laceration to the head. The boy had to be flown by emergency helicopter to the accident hospital in Kempten.
