Swedish furniture giant Ikea is recalling the Metallisk 0.4 liter espresso machine with stainless steel safety valve and date stamp between 2040 and 2204 (JJWW), it was announced in a broadcast on Wednesday. There is an increased risk of the product bursting during use.
Only a specific batch of the espresso machine is affected. The risk has increased following a change in the material and design of the safety valve, it was said – therefore only products with the stainless steel safety valve (silver/grey color) are subject to the recall. Other products in the Metallisk range are not affected by the recall.
The stove can be returned to any Ikea branch for a refund of the purchase price. Proof of purchase is not required.
