Is there an accident behind it? This is the question on the Tyrolean police’s minds after an abandoned kayak was found in the Trisanna near Kappl in Paznaun. A major search turned out negative. A photo has been published.
Around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, construction workers saw a kayak floating around in the Trisanna under the so-called Gföll Gallery. The workers alerted the police. A major operation was launched involving water rescue, fire brigade, paramedics and an emergency helicopter.
Hours of search
Rescuers searched for a possible victim for three hours. But no one was found. The investigations are ongoing. The kayak may be owned by the German who reported the loss on May 17. However, this has not yet been clarified.
