The Styrian woman who went underground with her four-year-old daughter more than a month ago because her husband got custody and he wants to bring the little one to the US, was arrested by police in Western Styria on Wednesday.
For more than a month, a Styrian woman had disappeared with her four-year-old daughter after the father wanted to bring the little one to the United States – a US court had granted him custody. On Wednesday, the mother and her daughter were detained by police in western Styria, as the Graz prosecutor confirmed to “Krone”.
And Irmgard Neumann, the woman’s lawyer, also confirms this and says that the family is in despair, because everything now indicates that the father is taking the little one to America.
Open investigation
“This is crazy, there is still a preliminary investigation into allegations of abuse against the father of the child,” said the lawyer. “If the little one comes to the US now, she won’t see her mother again until she’s of age.” Neumann emphasizes once again that in several reports, the mother is recognized as the main caregiver of the child.
