A hiker fell six meters to the Grüner See in Styria on Monday morning and was seriously injured on the lake shore. Mountain rescue rushed to the scene and they had to be rescued with rope and a rescue helicopter.
These are scenes that many hikers fear: on the morning of Whit Monday, a hiker fell while walking around the Styrian Green Lake and slid six meters into the depths. She was thrown over rocky, rough terrain before coming to rest on the lake shore.
Relatives immediately alerted rescuers: the woman had been seriously injured in the fall. A little later, twelve members of the Tragöß mountain rescue team arrived at the scene of the accident and were able to provide first aid. Christophorus’ rescue helicopter was called in to rescue the injured with rope and fly them to UKH Kalwang.
