Mom called emergency services – teen shot himself in the hand in nursery

Date:

This shot failed: a 14-year-old from Leonding in Upper Austria wielded an air pistol in his room and shot himself in the hand. The boy had collected several weapons: a brass knuckle, a butterfly knife, two electric shock weapons and a guest pistol.

The 14-year-old was using an air pistol in his room on Tuesday evening. According to the police, the boy from Leonding shot himself in the hand. His mother called the rescue team and her son was taken to Kepler University Hospital in Linz after first aid.

Arsenal of weapons in the room
The gunshot wound naturally also prompted police action. And during a voluntary inspection of the 14-year-old’s nursery, they found a veritable arsenal of weapons: a brass knuckle, a butterfly knife, two stun guns, a gas pistol and an air gun – all weapons were confiscated.

Because the brass knuckles are a prohibited weapon, the 14-year-old is charged in court. And because other weapons are only allowed from the age of 18, a report is also made to the district administration. In addition, a temporary weapons ban was imposed on the young people.
