“I aimed like this” – assassin (71) “just wanted to hurt” Fico

Date:

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico fought for his life for days after he was shot last week. Now details from the interrogation of 71-year-old hitman Juraj C. have been leaked. He is said to have emphasized to investigators that he ‘just wanted to hurt’ the head of government. According to the information, the writer has also shown remorse and wants to personally apologize to Fico.

The Slovak television channel Markiza obtained the transcript of the interrogation and quoted this explosive information from it. According to the information, C. made the decision to shoot the Prime Minister two days before the government meeting of Fico’s cabinet. Incidentally, the 71-year-old legally owned his weapon, a CZ 75b pistol with a caliber of 9 mm, as he had also previously worked part-time as security.

“Deliberately targeted so I don’t endanger Fico’s life.”
On the day of the exam, C. went to Handlova, where he parked his car in a shopping center. He then marched in front of the House of Culture, where he mingled and waited with the waiting supporters of the left-wing populist head of government. When he appeared in public for a short conversation, C. pulled the trigger. The 71-year-old emphasized during interrogation that he “deliberately aimed in such a way that I did not endanger Fico’s life or the life of other people.” After all, he could handle weapons.

He is said to regret his actions and also wants to personally apologize to the victim of the attack – either verbally at the upcoming trial or in a letter. The motive? He disagreed with Fico’s policies, including his approach to the country’s media, but also his pro-Russian stance.

C. was not a member of a radical group, but did have a xenophobic and revolutionary approach, which he also expressed on social media and in his books and poems. “The most important thing for him was freedom of expression,” said his neighbor and companion Mile L. a few days ago during a “Krone” inspection at the 71-year-old’s home.

Did the killer have supporters?
It is still unclear whether C. still had supporters in the background. Defense Secretary Robert Kalinak has not ruled this out, as he suspects that someone changed the attacker’s Facebook page before it was deactivated.
