The 70-year-old was walking two dogs in Hohenweiler on Wednesday evening when one of the two four-legged friends ran away. The dog’s owner ran after him until he became stuck in the swampy streambed.
Neighbor heard cries for help
There the man could neither move forward nor backward. Only after an hour and a half did a neighbor respond to the cries for help. She alerted emergency services, who arrived on the scene shortly before 10 p.m.
The dog owner was rescued from his predicament and taken to the state hospital in Bregenz with hypothermia and minor injuries.
