Shock in Vienna – man and woman in danger of life after serious accident

After a violent crash in Vienna-Donaustadt on Thursday evening, a 78-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man are now in life-threatening condition. The two crashed their car into another car. The occupants of the other car were also injured.

The terrible accident took place around 7:30 p.m. According to Vienna police, one of the two cars was said to have been traveling at extremely high speed. Shortly afterwards a collision occurred with the other vehicle, which wanted to turn left into a parking lot.

The car, which was driving straight ahead, overturned due to the collision and then crashed into a light pole (see photo). “The occupants of the running car, a 78-year-old and a 77-year-old, were seriously injured,” police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger said on Friday. The accident victims were rescued from the vehicles. The two seniors were quickly taken to a hospital. A rescue helicopter was also deployed.

The two occupants of the overturned car – a woman (19) and a man (21) – were only slightly injured in the collision. The traffic accident service immediately took over the investigation into the accident. “The 21-year-old was reported on suspicion of bodily harm due to negligence in traffic,” Haßlinger said. The road to the industrial estate was closed to car traffic during the entire operation.
