The San Sebastian man at the center of the New Caledonia incidents and his partner have already found a way to leave the country, EITB has learned. They were on their honeymoon when the uprising against electoral roll reform began and international flights were suspended on May 14.
Since then, they have contacted numerous embassies to find a way to leave the country, and will eventually do so in a flight chartered by the French government. The couple is currently at Magenta Domestic Airport but will be transferred to Tontouta International Airport.
Iñigo Aguayo is the man from San Sebastián who is stuck in New Caledonia with his partner, and although he has made it clear that they were in a situation safe placehave been trying to find a way out for weeks, as can be seen in this interview from May 23:
