Very special guest – How the Amstettner family was visited by a saint

Date:

Who can claim to have been visited by a saint? The Brandstetter family from Amstetten can do that. What led to this meeting, what they served him for food and what they remembered most of all – the people of Mostviertel remember their special guest.

He is considered one of the greatest figures of the Roman Catholic Church and stood up for social justice in his home country of El Salvador like no other. Óscar Romero ultimately paid for his fight against the then military dictatorship with his life in 1980. The man who was canonized by Pope Francis in 2018 even ended up in the Mostviertel during his work. To be precise: to the Brandstetter family in Amstetten. Romero really wanted to visit them.
