Heavy rain flooded dozens of cellars and streets in the south of the country on Tuesday afternoon. Hundreds of firefighters were deployed extensively.
Once again, numerous fire brigades had to respond to storms: After heavy rain, sirens sounded in the afternoon in the districts of Graz-Raum, Hartberg-Fürstenfeld, South-East Styria and Leibnitz.
Muddy streets, flooded cellars
The towns of Bad Waltersdorf, Vasoldsberg, St. Georgen an der Stiefing, Hausmannstätten, Kirchberg an der Raab, St. Stefan im Rosental, Sebersdorf and the Labilltal were particularly affected. First safety work had to be carried out, then the streets had to be cleared of mud and flooded cellars had to be pumped out. Hundreds of firefighters worked for hours.
