Officials from the state traffic service carried out traffic checks in Villach on Wednesday evening. The police were also informed of a 17-year-old from Villach and his moped. But when the teen saw the officers, he accelerated and struck an officer.
After the 17-year-old and the officer fell to the ground, the teen tried to escape on foot. But the police were able to prevent that and the handcuffs clicked.
Exhaustion and a moped that is too fast
Because the youngster gave the officers the impression that he was no longer fit to drive, an alcohol test was taken, which was negative. Police then consulted the 17-year-old with the doctor, who noted that he was extremely tired.
The young person has been reported to the district administration and the Klagenfurt public prosecutor’s office for various violations.
