78,139 people are seeking one of 1,924 places named in the second phase of the 2018-2019 Osakidetza OPE, to be held in October and November. The majority are women (68.2%).
The Ministry of Health of the Basque Government has announced that: number of people registered for this callonce the term has expired. Of the 63 categories offered, the specialties with highest number of applicants to be watchman (20 633), Administrative assistant (17,158) and nursing assistant (14,612).
This second phase of the OPE, which will take place in the fall, will be preceded by the exams for the first, which will take place on June 18 and 19 in the Las Nieves Lecture Hall of the UPV/EHU in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and on June 2 and 3. July at the BEC in Barakaldo, where 38,654 people will choose one of the 1,610 places on offer.
The Ministry of Health points out in the statement on this second phase of the OPE that it will try to stabilize “the largest possible number of places” in primary care in the June and July exams. “In total, the OPE 2018-2019 offers 3,535 places with which Osakidetza plans to strengthen the workforce and bring more stability to the entire Basque health system”he emphasized.
