Thrown on the ceiling – turbulence: flight attendant broke her spine

Date:

Strong turbulence on a flight from Istanbul to Izmir threw a flight attendant against the plane’s ceiling and seriously injured her. It is the third incident of this nature in just a few days.

Unforeseen turbulence has now occurred on a Turkish Airways domestic flight from Istanbul to Izmir, as NTV reported with reference to the Turkish newspaper “Hurriyet”.

Flight attendant thrown against the ceiling
Accordingly, the plane suddenly sank, throwing a flight attendant into the ceiling. It is said that she broke her spine when she subsequently hit the ground.

The pilot had recently warned the crew and passengers about turbulence, but the flight attendant, who had only worked for the airline for a short time, was unable to buckle up in time. There are said to be no other injuries.

Third incident already
It is the third time in just a few days that there have been injuries on board due to strong turbulence during a flight. Last weekend, twelve passengers on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Dublin were injured when the plane suddenly sank.

A flight from London to Singapore also experienced heavy turbulence a few days earlier. About a hundred people were injured, some seriously. In addition, a 73-year-old Briton died – probably of a heart attack.
