A one-and-a-half-year-old boy fell from a window of a first-floor apartment in Vienna’s Ottakring district on Wednesday evening. The toddler suffered serious head injuries.
The boy probably climbed over the dining table onto the windowsill of the open kitchen window in an unnoticed moment around 7:45 p.m.

A witness saw how the toddler then leaned on a flower pot and then lost his balance. The boy then fell out of the window.
After the initial treatment, the child was taken to a hospital trauma room. The parents have filed a report on suspicion of bodily harm due to negligence.
