Many thousands of people in Austria suffer from neurodermatitis. This also applies to German-born Gerd Buschmann. After a life plagued by neurodermatitis, the 69-year-old has finally found lasting relief. In an interview with the “Krone” he explains how that went.
It started just eight weeks after birth in 1955: at that time, the disease now known as neurodermatitis was still called ‘endogenous eczema’. “During my youth, I regularly spent weeks in hospitals. They have tried everything,” explains Gerd Buschmann. “When I was eight years old, my blood was washed in the Berlin Charité, I went to doctors from Bavaria to Zwickau, but everything was in vain,” says the 69-year-old.
