Inferno prevented – woman threatened to set fire to gas bottles in Innsbruck

On Monday night, numerous emergency services from the professional fire brigade or police were deployed in Innsbruck for a difficult operation. A woman (33) threatened to set fire to gas bottles in her apartment. By intervening something worse could have been prevented.

Around 10:30 p.m., police received a report that a 33-year-old local woman was threatening to set fire to gas bottles in her apartment in Innsbruck. Numerous operational units from the police, rescue brigade, professional fire brigade, IVB, Tigas and other institutions responded. Out of an abundance of caution, the area was largely cordoned off.

Ultimately, police were allowed into the woman’s apartment. Fortunately, the officers did not notice a strong smell of gas there. “A report of dangerous threats will be filed with the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office,” the director said. The woman was taken to a hospital.
