According to the Public Prosecution Service, the victim’s family member would have been the first to strike again. The third defendant pulled out a knife and stabbed the attacking opponent in the upper arm and another in the buttocks.
Apparently possessed weapons illegally
During the scuffle, his 22-year-old brother pulled out a Zastava pistol, fired a warning shot into the ground and hit another member of the other family with a second shot in the back. Finally, the builder also allegedly pulled out a gun. Prosecutors say he struck the victim as he ran away with the Colt, shooting him in the left thigh.
The son also continued to pull the trigger and shot an opponent who apparently had a knife in the pelvis. Another man was shot in the groin. Three of the four victims collapsed with life-threatening injuries. The Baumeister family jumped into the car and fled. “My clients defended themselves after the others attacked again,” said lawyer Rudolf Mayer, who is representing the family, assuming there was self-defense or at most bodily harm.
