Fear for the many passengers in Ebenfurth on Wednesday evening! Shortly before 7:15 p.m., a train derailed on the Pottendorf route. It is said that 40 passengers were evacuated with the help of the fire brigade and transported in a bus. According to ÖBB spokesman Christoph Seif, no one was injured.
The train could not go any further
According to the ÖBB, REX 7631 derailed with the front bogie, i.e. the first two axles, of the first car. The two affected cars were put back on the track and removed with the support of an emergency train.
A replacement rail service was set up. The trains have been running as planned again since Thursday morning. The cause of the accident is still unclear.
