560,000 euros standard consumption tax (NoVA) “saved”: Five car dealers now have to answer to the court in Vienna.
Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche. A small excerpt from the luxury cars for which five defendants are said to have evaded the NoVA. Aided by a tax official, 57 vehicles would have been unlocked without paying the standard fuel consumption tax. They were then sold through the defendants’ businesses. You saved 665,000 euros. The employee of the tax authorities has therefore already been convicted.
“No idea”
The five car dealers in the Vienna court are said to have made the real profit. “They are not just friends, they formed a criminal organization,” prosecutor Sonja Herbst accuses. In addition to this accusation, the Serb who was first accused also has to answer for the NoVA evasions. He should be alone.
The other four accomplices: “We have absolutely no idea. These are just conclusions!” defends Alexander Philipp. His client pleads innocent. The tax officer would have acted alone.
Lawyers plead for acquittal
Lawyer Christian Werner also makes it clear: “The results of the investigation are poor.” A photo of the five at the airport in the direction of a motor show in Geneva should support the accusation. “Five car dealers fly to a car show. I don’t see anything special there,” says lawyer Klaus Ainedter.
All defenders agree: “The conditions for a conspiracy are just not met!” They demand five acquittals. A sequel follows.
