Macabre find for construction workers in Köttmannsdorf, Carinthia: While working on sewers, they suddenly came across human bones. But instead of the police, it is the monuments office’s turn.
Construction and sewerage work is currently taking place in Köttmannsdorf. While workers were digging for the canal at the former Ille Inn, bones suddenly appeared. Little by little, three human skeletons were uncovered, which had probably been there for a long time.
Now the monuments office must clarify how old these are – it is suspected that there are other human remains, we are talking about an entire cemetery.
The discovery naturally led to a halt to construction work. “But we as a municipality are not worried about that, we have planned sufficient lead times,” explains Josef Liendl, the mayor of Köttmannsdorf. Now everyone is eagerly awaiting the experts’ final report.
