In the manifesto elaborated, the Left Bank groups warn that four years after the Covid-19 pandemic and despite the fact that it “has made its consequences more than clear failures of this capitalist and neoliberal systemPolicies at both Basque, state and EU levels have done nothing other than strengthen the EU drift“.
In the same way they emphasize that here “new phase of capital accumulation”will be added “the war phase” what is lived with ‘the genocide’ of the Palestinian people and the “persistence” of the war in Ukraineleading to an increase in military spending that is “reflected in social cuts.”
‘The working class needs measures that deliver real results lives in the center, the right to decent housing, access to quality public education and healthcare, a public healthcare system and decent wages and pensions for all people. Instead, as is usual in public policy, they are once again focusing on the privatization of public resources, something that the people of Ezkerraldea have suffered and continue to suffer from,” they denounce.
In this region, “the difficulties of making ends meet are increasing,” warn the organizers, who also recall the current “moment of economic boom”. far-right speecheswhich invade the various areas” and which “have mainly increased xenophobia and racismon the streets.
Along these lines they censor the “increasing criminalization of poverty”, as they say, “with daily data in the homes of people receiving social support.” On the other hand, they emphasize the need to move towards a “more co-responsible” healthcare system that is public, universal and free.
