A woman in Bad Ischl must have been extremely lucky to be alive after her accident. After an accident she fell over a steep dike into the water. The 48-year-old could no longer move on her own, but managed to raise the alarm with her mobile phone.
On Wednesday afternoon around 1:45 p.m., a report was made to the Bad Ischl police about the disappearance of a 48-year-old local woman. A total of five patrols from the Bad Ischl, Ebensee and Bad Goisern inspections were deployed in the search, which was started immediately.
Around 4 p.m., the missing person suddenly contacted a friend and stated that she was in the Rettenbach River near the Rettenbachklamm. The 48-year-old pleadingly explained on her mobile phone that she could no longer move and urgently needed help.
Fallen 10 meters over a steep slope
The police patrols then immediately searched the area she mentioned. And indeed: they finally found the woman lying in the water on the banks of the Rettenbach at 4:50 p.m. As became clear at the scene of the accident, she had apparently fallen over the embankment. He probably rolled about 30 feet over wooded area that was steep around 50 degrees and then fell into the stream.
The injured person received emergency medical care and was then rescued with a shovel stretcher by the emergency services of the Gmunden Alpine Police with the support of the whitewater rescue team and paramedics from the Red Cross of Bad Ischl. The victim was taken to the Salzkammergut clinic with injuries of an unknown nature.
