The school trip of a German class to Biberwier ended fatally. A 16-year-old student had a serious accident while riding a ‘mountain cart’. She had to be flown to hospital by helicopter.
As part of the school trip on Thursday around 2:45 p.m., the 16-year-old in Biberwier drove a so-called ‘mountain cart’ over the forest path from Marienberg to the valley.
Left the forest path
She and another student were the last of the group. Shortly below the Sunnalm, the vehicle swerved to the left of the forest path and then fell over an embankment into the valley. The 16-year-old was subsequently injured.
First aid from the teacher
Her teacher noticed the accident and gave the student first aid. It turned out that she suffered serious injuries and had to be flown to Garmisch Hospital.
