He made millions off marijuana – and has now gone online in Thailand. The plantations of a 37-year-old caused power outages in Vienna.
Officially he received unemployment benefits, unofficially Omar C. had a marijuana business worth millions! Things went so well that he was able to rent a residential building in Vienna’s 17th district next to an abandoned inn in Langenlois, Lower Austria. And this for only one reason: he used two floors for hemp plantations and drying rooms. The other living quarters were at the disposal of the five hired gardeners.
Several widespread power outages
In order not to stand out due to the increased power consumption, he illegally sucked it off the general network. This caused several large-scale power outages in the district. And so the network of the native Bosnian was also exposed. Even though his “gardening” probably wasn’t responsible for the billion-dollar debacle at Wien Energie.
Value of 1.5 million euros
While the five “hobby gardeners” and seven suspects in Lower Austria were caught in Lower Austria thanks to the investigators of the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department, West branch (in total, about 300 kilograms of marijuana worth more than 1.5 million euros were seized), the prime suspect managed to escape.
Via Turkey and Abu Dhabi to Thailand – where the target investigators of the Federal Criminal Police Office found Omar C. on the run after 270 days and were able to have him arrested by the liaison officer of the Ministry of Interior who is stationed in Bangkok. The 37-year-old was in Thai boxing training when local authorities handcuffed him.
It was delivered a few days ago.
