A heavily drunk man from Western Styria lost control of his car on Radlpassstrasse on Friday evening, skidded and crashed into the guardrail. The 60-year-old then wanted to flee on foot, but witnesses prevented this.
Around 7:30 p.m., the driver hit the right guardrail on Radlpassstrasse in Lannach, skidded and crashed into the oncoming vehicle – where fortunately no other car approached.
Despite his head wound, he wanted to escape on foot
There he collided again with the guardrail and landed on the oncoming vehicle. The 60-year-old driver got out with a bleeding head wound and tried to get away on foot.
However, witnesses to the accident prevented the man from the Deutschlandsberg district from doing so and alerted the police. According to the police, an alcohol test was positive and showed serious intoxication. There was significant damage to the accident car.
Admitted to UKH Graz
The 60-year-old was taken to UKH Graz by the rescue team. The B76 was closed in both directions for over an hour.
