Freed from mud – Nova Rock: roadside assistance responded 91 times

Date:

On the second day of the Nova Rock Festival in Nickelsdorf (Burgenland), the swamp has largely disappeared. After heavy rainfall, the sun came out and the parking lots can be used again without any problems. At first glance, there is little that reminds us that AMTC road guards have already handled 91 calls. Many vehicles had to be towed to parking lots because of the mud.

Since Thursday morning, when the mobile base was set up, the ÖAMTC has counted 91 missions at the Nova Rock Festival. Both the traffic club and the organizer pulled vehicles into the parking lots because of the muddy ground, an APA spokeswoman reported. Often jumpstarts had to be given or there was damage to the tires. The roadside assistance has already had 30 to 50 phone calls on the highway or highway, so on the way to the music event.

More orders expected
Although the intense rain stopped on Friday, the ÖAMTC expects to have to go out a few more times. On Sunday and Monday, the ground will barely be completely dry before departure, which could cause other vehicles to get stuck in the mud.

Helicopter was already there
In addition to roadside assistance, the police and emergency services were also active at the well-known music festival, which was visited by 225,000 guests this year (number of tickets sold on all four days, please note). As reported on Friday night, a stage worker was seriously injured in a work accident. The man fell from the stage after the concert of the band Muse and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital in Eisenstadt. On Friday morning, the paramedics had to receive a total of 358 people. They treated sprains, abrasions and insect bites.

The police, in turn, had to deal with break-ins in tents by team and security personnel. Only on Wednesday did they pick up 44 refugees at the festival site.

sun stays
In the coming days, especially the rescue services can breathe a sigh of relief. The past missions were partly due to falls on difficult terrain. According to Bergfex, it should remain mostly sunny from Saturday to Monday. Clouds may still appear in the sky on Saturday at noon, the same applies to Sunday. On Monday, some rain showers and wind are expected again.
