On Wednesday morning, a 72-year-old man in Hard became “lost” in his car in an area that is currently flooded. He could not get any further and had to be rescued by the fire brigade.
That wasn’t exactly smart: the 72-year-old had first ignored a storm surge and then continued driving until the engine stopped due to the incoming water. Because the water was already seeping into the interior of the car, he could no longer free himself from the car.
Luckily for him, witnesses witnessed the incident. Fire and water rescue teams who were alerted eventually rescued the man and the car was towed away using a cable winch.
