For two young people, the visit to the Vienna Schafbergbad on Sunday afternoon was a horror: six children allegedly beat the boys – all aged 13 and 14 -, threatened them with an empty pistol and robbed them.
According to the police, the perpetrators were sometimes even considerably younger than the two victims: Five boys between the ages of ten and twelve and a 14-year-old were reported and handed over to their legal guardians, police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger said on Monday. .
The argument initially arose while playing ball: the two young people threw a ball back and forth in the popular outdoor pool on Josef-Redl-Gasse in Währing – which eventually ended up with the group of six, who no longer wanted to give it away.
Fortunately, the victims remain unharmed
“The two victims were then beaten and threatened with a blank pistol and their wallets were stolen, according to their statements,” the spokesperson said. The two boys were unharmed.
Suspects arrested in bus
The suspects were caught on a bus in the Hernals district, which was stopped by several teams of patrol cars: they were looking for the “young suspects after a robbery with a firearm”. The children and the 14-year-old were searched and the officers discovered the suspected murder weapon in a bag.
With the exception of the eldest, all suspects are minors; they have Austrian, Afghan or Bulgarian nationality or come from the Russian Federation. “Child and youth care have been informed of the incident.”
