Alert level three! On Monday afternoon, 16 fire brigades were called to St. Marienkirchen an der Polsenz (Upper Austria) for a full-scale fire in a farm. A farm building was on fire and extinguishing the fire was a challenge due to the hilly terrain.
On Monday around 1:30 p.m., the first fire brigades arrived in St. Marienkirchen an der Polsenz and the alarm was gradually raised until a total of 17 fire brigades were deployed. The farm building was completely engulfed in flames.
No injuries
Most importantly, there have been no reports of injuries so far. The cows, which were housed in an outbuilding near the fire, were also believed to be safe.
Difficult extinguishing work
The Florianis were able to prevent the flames from spreading to the house. However, the firefighting activities were challenging because it was not easy to supply water in the hilly terrain. According to the police, the cause can be assumed to be that straw ignited in the hot exhaust of the agricultural loader. No people or animals were injured in the large fire.
Curious: During the operation, the B134 had to be closed at the intersection with the B129 because a fire brigade had an accident and a slippery foam carpet had formed on the road. The cleanup took about an hour.
