A young falcon survived a fall from 20 meters unscathed in Rossegg in western Styria! The fire brigade returned it to its nest – the already very nervous mother falcon did not facilitate the operation.
The falcon’s nest is about 20 meters high on a large tree. When the young bird was found, the Rossegg Fire Department responded. Using Stainz’ turntable ladder, the nest was searched, found and the animal returned there.
Mother circled nervously around the nest
There was another falcon chick in the nest. The firefighters quickly withdrew as the mother hawk was already circling nervously around the nest. After about an hour, all emergency services were able to return to the armory.
